Unpeeling the numerous layers on which the Amelia
Trust Farm operates is a wondrous and exciting experience, full of
surprises. At the core however is the farm itself, a most imaginative
backdrop to all these activities. However it is not simply an operating
platform but a life-force in its own right.
Every farm has animals, some can be stroked and bring a smile
to the face, others are just good to look at and to admire for
their strength or elegance. We have some great examples of every
category, from cuddly bunnies to manic chipmunks and through to
the powerful Shire horse. Some rare breeds of cattle, goats and
pigs add another dimension of interest….and no-one ignores
the donkeys!
You can help keep these animals in the style to which they have
become accustomed by joining our “Adopt an Animal” scheme.
All contributions to the cost of their upkeep is welcome and if
you would like an information pack, please ring us on 01446 782030

There are so many more animals to come and see you simply have
to come and have a look for yourselves… it represents a chance
to drift off into another world, enjoy the animals and the tranquillity
of the countryside and not worry about the cost of taking the family
for a day out together.
We are committed to a policy of implementing best practice when
it comes to caring for our environment and you will see plenty
of examples of this around the farm. We wear our conservation hats
when it comes to looking after the woodlands and the ponds, but
on a much simpler scale we let the birds and animals enjoy the
freedom of the farm wherever we can. You might find that you like
our free range eggs so much you will come back for more!
On the other side of the coin, working with animals is a great
way to forget about the cares of the world outside and, for the
youngsters who come to the farm for work experience, it is a great
channel for all that energy. Much better than hanging around street
corners or just watching videos at home. They also learn new practical
skills that can be taken back to the world outside the farm, and
with the confidence that comes with the knowledge that you have
successfully achieved something.
