Welcome to the Field Days Project at the Amelia Trust Farm. Field
Days is a project within Innovate Trust and has been based at the
Farm since 1996. Together with our colleagues from Opportunity
Housing Trust we have developed the garden to the showpiece that
exists today.
The garden consists of borders containing many unusual herbaceous
perennials that have been raised from seed or cuttings and grown
on site.

The willow hedge that surrounds
the garden and provides valuable shelter, is woven and pruned each spring time to retain
the original shape.
The best time of the year to visit the garden
is from June to September – there is also a barbecue in
the garden for visitors to use (this can be booked through the
farm office).
If any of the plants appeal then you may be able to purchase
them at the visitor centre. Our display is directly outside the
café on the farmyard.
The Field Days Project is run with the assistance of people
with learning disabilities who volunteer to work on the garden
and in return gain valuable experience and training in horticulture.
The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the City
and County of Cardiff. If you would like further details of the
project then please contact us at Innovate Trust on 029 20382151.
