Walks

Within our woodland areas there are paths to explore, interpretative information to read, piglets to find and the challenge of our adventure play area. Fun for visitors but for many of our regular users these facilities also offer the opportunity for team work. Some schools, youth groups and corporate organisations have adopted corners to maintain, while others take on the physical challenge to make improvements and add features.

The Matrix

The Matrix is a team building challenge course built in our woods to promote team initiatives for groups of 4 to 8 people.

In August 2001 a group of Americans from UMVIM (United Methodist Volunteers In Mission) in California came to the Amelia Trust Farm to help build a challenge course to promote problem solving and teamwork skills.

A set of instructions has been designed so that with a 20-minute guide round the route from an Amelia Trust member of staff, the visiting leaders should be able to run the team building challenges themselves.

On request we can provide a 'Team Leader' for the day, but additional charges will apply. For older groups of people (15 years old and beyond) little help is required as the instructions given are clear and accurate but for younger challengers (11-14 years old) more help from the leaders will be needed.

The course has 14 challenges. These may be completed during a full day's session, or split into 2 or 3 separate sessions of a few hours each.

You need to book the course at least two weeks in advance.
