Malcolm Sanchez-Jones Mal has worked at the Farm since September 2002. With degree level qualifications in Youth Work, Health & Social Care, Crisis Management, Leadership & Management, Training & Assessment and Quality Assurance he has been at the forefront of the creation, development and implementation of alternative education programmes and safeguarding systems. Before joining the Farm Mal was employed as a youth worker in the Barry community and also worked at a family centre, as part of a school behavioural team and at children’s services in the Vale of Glamorgan. His work has been recognised through the achievement of two awards: Cardiff Council’s Outstanding Contribution to Improving the Outcomes for Young People Leaving Care and an Understanding Disability Award. Mal has also been actively involved in fundraising for the Farm and has run numerous events including trekking the Great Wall of China and Cycling from Athens to Cardiff in order to create new facilities. Mal is a father to 3 daughters and spends the majority of his free time running a martial arts centre and free Tai Chi sessions for the Community.
