Nick Rodgers Expand I joined the Farm shortly after leaving the Navy in 1998 as a volunteer and spent a loot of time digging, fencing and laying concrete! I went on to do some maths and English tutoring and was then asked to join the Council of Management in 2001. Some time later, I went on to Chair the Council when Tony Ford (the original Chair) retired. I continued to serve in that capacity until handing over to Will more recently. Away from the farm, I teach meteorology at Cardiff University and am involved in some maritime related charities. Many of you will know my daughter Sian and wife Fiona who both love pigs!!
Mrs Vanessa Johns-Powell Expand I was brought up and educated in Cowbridge and now live in Bonvilston. I have been fortunate enough to live and work abroad and came back to the Vale to raise my family. I have an honours degree in Business and Leisure Management and a career background in hospitality and training. My career has been enhanced by working for companies such as Walt Disney World in the USA and Rocco Forte in the UK. I am now a Director/Partner in several businesses ranging from Insurance underwriting in London to Cottrell Park Golf Resort in St Nicholas.

Lisa Cordery Bruce Expand I have been a nurse for over 20 years, starting off in Medicine with a specialism in HIV, before becoming a Midwife at Llandough Hospital and then UHW. My interest in adolescent development led to my undertaking an MSc in Specialist community public health nurse public health nursing (School aged children). I am currently studying for my doctorate and looking at the early intervention and prevention of mental health issues in School Aged Children. I worked as a School Nurse but now run a multi-agency team which is led by Public Health. The team, called Switched On, delivers education about substance misuse and well-being to all children and young people across Cardiff and The Vale. We support schools and alternative educational environments to improve outcomes for children and young people. Another part of my work for the Health Board requires that I embed Children's Rights into our values and daily practice. I developed a Children and Young Peoples Health Charter and have set up a Youth Board to ensure children and young people have a say in decisions which effect them. I believe firmly in the values of Amelia Trust Farm and the fantastic work which is done to help children and young people. The farm embraces the robust evidence base of the Adverse Childhood Experiences research to make a real difference to young lives at a key time. Young people are encouraged to thrive and are given a sense of belonging at the farm. I support and celebrate the work wholeheartedly.
Sian Davies Expand I am now retired after working in local government for over 40 years. I am a qualified accountant and have a MBA from Cardiff Business School. My last employment was Managing Director of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. The Amelia Trust Farm's objectives of community engagement and supporting vulnerable and young people through its activities and natural environment, make an important contribution to improving lives. I relish my role in contributing to this work and am currently the Honorary Treasurer. I am a school governor at Barry Comprehensive School and St Cyres Comprehensive School. I am also a trustee for three other local charities.
