Referrals are usually made from the South Wales area - Swansea, Bridgend, Cardiff and Vale, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr and Blaenau Gwent from the following organisations:

Schools and Pupils Referral Units (PRU)
Schools and PRUs identify learners that are at risk of temporary or permanent exclusion.
This may be due to issues that have happened in or out of the school environment but the
need for additional support has been acknowledged. The learner’s attendance as a result
of these difficulties can diminish which may lead to legal action being enforced. The Farm
setting offers a more relaxed nurturing environment with a high level of pastoral support.
The vocational programme of activities help to settle the learner into the project, whilst
encouraging them to change their perception of learning, therefore supporting their
academic achievement in school.

Social Services / Youth Offending Services / Independent Foster Care Services
These services focus referral towards the young person’s development of behavioural, emotional and social skills. This growth enables an
individual to be better equipped when regaining control of their lives. Referrers have commented that the increased confidence and
motivation in young people makes them more willing to re-engage with school or alternative education providers.
